Week #4 in Big But of the Bible

I have been a little behind (no pun intended:-) the eightball when it comes to my blog. It slipped my mind when I started this new message series and then I was gone for a week and half. Vacation does that. So this Sunday is actually the fourth message of a six week series.

I'd like to thank Rob Comfort for speaking week #2 and Kary Oberbrunner for week #3.

The series is taking us through the six "BUT" statements made by Jesus in His sermon on the mount found in Matthew 5:21-48. He speaks on the topics of anger, adultery, divorce, making vows, revenge and loving your ememies. This Sunday the message is on making vows and is titled, "Plastic Surgery".

Back from vacation

Last night we returned home from a week and a half vacation. The first three days we were at my sisters place helping her family get some jobs done around the new house they bought. Her hubby Trevor and I were on fence duty. We dug, poured concrete and put posts into 16 holes and then screwed railings into place. Melissa painted the ceiling of the kitchen and living rooms and Zach painted a big storage container and play fort. The girls got to go with Oma and Opa (grandparents in Dutch) to the lake and on bikes rides. After our time with the deVries' we headed off to Gull Lake Ministries (http://www.gulllake.org/) in Michigan. This was our fourth time to go as a family and we just love it! Great food (17 meals made for us), amazing activites, speakers and friends to share our time with while we're there. Too many pics to post here so go to my FB account to view them. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2043728367416.184225.1070553470
